11/25/03 Recent Ultrasound Pictures On November 25, 2003, we had an ultrasound done at the hospital, and for the first time we met the newest addition to the family. The baby was 17 weeks old, weighed approximately 3 ounces, and was around 5 inches in length at the time of the ultrasound.
Our first sight was the normal side profile (head on right, small right hand fisted just above eyebrows). He (see the last picture) was moving around like crazy, mostly sucking his thumb or rubbing his eyes.
One of the coolest parts of the ultrasound was seeing the new 3D technology in action. Here is our little guy--sort of shy, isn't he? :O) This is the actual view in the uterus. The picture is a bit fuzzy, and the baby looks a little like a bloated bronze statue, but it is really amazing to actually see the baby this clearly so early!
More of the 3D view.
We also found out it's a boy! Here's the "proof." It is a shot looking up at the bottom of his butt; the lower right larger area is his hips, and the two turkey-leg looking things are his legs, and the little thing in the middle (where the arrow is pointing) is...well, what can we say--it's a boy! The End...for now.
